Staying Calm in Difficult Times

We all face tough scenarios on a regular basis. For instance, you just got out of the dentist. You had skipped breakfast to go and now the dentist tells you to wait two hours before eating. With the unexpected traffic, it will take you longer than that to get back to your busy workday anyway. Your car indicated that your phone is ringing. Who is it? It's your cousin. Her boyfriend left her, again. She needs some cash and a place for her and her three dogs to stay for a couple of weeks. At times like these, does acting in calm, constructive and compassionate ways seem like a reach? Think again! Buddha has done it joyfully and effortlessly in harder situations. So can we; learn how. And just in time for the holidays.

As the classic Christmas song proclaims, “It is the most wonderful time of the year”, but is that our experience? So many people find themselves feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and in need of a break. We don’t have the option to skip the holiday season either. So, what are we to do? We are certainly capable of having stress-free holidays. There is no reason we shouldn’t be stress-free. But, we need to develop the skills necessary to keep our mind free of stress and the capacity to maintain that mental state through the holiday season. In this class we will learn just that – how to be stress-free, stay in the moment, enjoy the season, and keep productive. Actually, we will learn techniques that we can use all year long! Instead of getting stressed out with holiday shopping on Black Friday (or, in addition to), join us for this special talk on overcome stress. Everyone is welcome regardless of background or experience.
