Northwest Sinfonietta "Classics, Unconducted"

Chamber Music

Welcome the New Year with a concert showcasing the artists of the Northwest Sinfonietta. In this unconducted performance, led by Co-concertmaster Brittany Boulding, Seattle Symphony principal cellist Efe Baltacigil will play Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 1 in C Major. In the second portion of the program, the Northwest Sinfonietta winds take charge with a virtuosic performance of Mozart's Serenade No. 10 for Winds, the Gran Partita. Thirteen winds come together to perform the seven movements of this composition, described as "glorious" and "sublime" by contemporary critics of Mozart. This composition was performed only once, and only in part, during Mozart's lifetime.
