T Sisters with Kendl Winter

Rock, Americana/Roots, Folk

A very special evening driven by highly talented female artists, roots, folk, americana, sweet harmonies and a sassy stage presence. The T Sisters are a genuine sister group based in the creative hub of Oakland, California. The group is made up of big sister Erika (guitar, vocals) and twins Rachel (guitar, banjo, vocals) and Chloe Tietjen (percussion, vocals). Distinguished by close harmonies, catchy melodies and potent lyricism, the T Sistersí sound represents a continuum of music: from roots to pop influences, moments of stunning a cappella to swells of groovy indie folk. The sisters' contemporary yet classic sound invites a range of likenesses, with classic harmonies akin to the Pointer Sisters and the Everly Brothers and modern kinship with family bands like the Avett Brothers and First Aid Kit. Opening for the T Sisters will be Kendl Winter, playing songs from her newly released solo album, Stumbler's Business. Her musical adventures have wandered from finger picking to electric guitars to old-time roots and bluegrass banjo, and back again; with her earliest pursuits in punk and string bands, and solo work released on Olympiaís own label K. She is currently one half of the banjo/ guitar duo known as The Lowest Pair (Team Love), with Palmer T. Lee. Comparisons have been made to Karen Dalton, Gillian Welch, and Iris DeMent, but Kendlís voice is all her own.
