Puget Sound Orca Recovery Day: Volunteer Work Party

Green/Environmental, Community Event, For the Family, Volunteer Event

Join Thurston CDs Clear Choices for Clean Water program and the Capitol Land Trust for a work party as a part of the Puget Sound Regional Orca Recovery Day events. This volunteer work party is one of many locations throughout the South Sound raising awareness and engagement around the current threat to our Southern Resident Killer Whales. Well be working at the CLTs Harmony Farm Preserve off Johnson Point Road (future home of the Inspiring Kids Preserve) removing Himalayan blackberries and replanting an area where an old barn burned down years ago. This work impacts local water quality and creates a healthy environment for the marine food web to flourish in, benefiting our precious Killer Whales. Tools, gloves, and warm lunch provided (clam chowder from Taylor Shellfish). Please dress for the weather. Limited on-site parking means well be running shuttles from South Bay Elementary to the work site. Please RSVP to get your volunteer waiver and further instructions.
