Christopher Holman and Cynthia Holman, organ and soprano

Classical, Classical (Solo Vocal)

Organist Christopher Holman and soprano Cynthia Holman present a recital of works by Johann Christian Bach, W. A. Mozart and James Hewitt. Beginning with a Sonata by Johann Christian Bach, the program centers around Mozart's virtuosic solo motet Exultate, jubilate, with a new transcription of the organ accompaniment based on the work of Johann Christian Bach by Christopher Holman. Early American composer James Hewitt's keyboard symphony “The Battle of Trenton” was written just after the Revolutionary War, and tells the story of the battle that changed the course of history. Christopher Holman is currently studying early music performance practice in Basel, Switzerland on a Frank Huntington Beebe Fund for Musicians grant. Cynthia Holman, an American operatic soprano based in Basel, Switzerland, has captured prizes at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and Musicfest Northwest Competition.
